My Role

As Team Lead UI/UX Designer, I led the full design lifecycle—from initial research to scalable design system creation—while collaborating closely with a cross-functional team consisting of a UX Researcher, Information Architect, UX Writer, Usability Expert, and Frontend Developer.

Collaboration

Working fully remote, I coordinated with the product, engineering, and healthcare compliance teams through regular design syncs, sprint reviews, and usability workshops.
My leadership ensured that every team member—from researchers to developers—worked under a shared design framework and accessibility-first mindset. I maintained constant collaboration across time zones to ensure all deliverables met the design, business, and medical requirements.

Results & Impact

Improved task completion rate by 47% for parents tracking immunizations and milestones

Increased user engagement by 63% through integrated notifications, family sharing, and health tips

Reduced onboarding time by 40% with a simplified setup process and adaptive tutorials for new parents

Established a long-term design system, enabling faster design-to-dev handoffs and consistent visual language across platforms

Implemented a unified global search that lets users find data across medications, records, milestones, and health news in one query

Design Process

The design process followed a human-centered, iterative, and accessibility-driven approach aligned with WCAG 2.1 standards.

  • Empathize: User interviews, surveys, observation studies

  • Define: Personas, problem statements, and user journey mapping

  • Ideate: Brainstorming with cross-functional team, sketching, IA creation

  • Design: Low- to high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and visual system

  • Test: Usability testing with parents, children, and pediatric staff

  • Implement: Design-to-development handoff, feedback iterations

  • Evaluate: Accessibility audits, analytics, and post-launch improvements
